My sincere apologies for the lack of updates on the blog, as of late. I made the recent lifestyle choice of relocating myself to the other side of the world from the UK to China for some various opportunities out here for the next 6 months. So whilst I’ve been settling in here, I have been neglecting this awesome new blog that I started (plus I had trouble accessing a decent internet connection here).
One of the things that I realised since I have been here (nearly a month now) is that it’s harder to get exposed to Western music here. In the UK, you have English TV playing music channels and western adverts with new songs, radio stations pumping out their tunes, as well as western blogs pimping out the little known stuff before they become big. You’re constantly surrounded by sources of new music. I don’t like Chinese music, simply put.
An example that I’ve loved recently on HypeM as its known, is Anya Marina’s cover of T.I’s “Whatever You Like”. I don’t know much about Anya apart from what I could dig up on Wikipedia – which states that the song featured on an episode of Gossip Girl, and that’s pretty much all I care to find out! Saying that I do really like this little acoustic number she did. Enjoy!
